Kuala Lumpur (VNA)꧃ – Malaysia’s GDP growth in 2022reached 8.7%, a record high in the last 22 years, according to the country’sDepartment of Statistics.

In another statement, Malaysian central bank - Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM) announced that the country registered a 7% growth in the fourth quarter of 2022 while theprevious quarter posted a growth of 14.2%. BNM noted that the private sector’s activities remain the maindriver of growth in the fourth quarter which has been supported by privateconsumption and investment. Improved conditions for the recovery of the country’s labourmarket have helped keep private consumption growing./.
