Members approved for steering committee on regional, int’l financial centres

Under the Decision No. 981/QD-TT dated May 20, Prime Minister Chinh will serve as head of the Steering Committee for Regional and International Financial Centres in Vietnam.

Hanoi (VNA) – Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh has jus♔t approved a list of members of the Steering Committee for Regional and Internatio🐓nal Financial Centres in Vietnam.

Under the Decision No. 981/QD-TT dated May 20, Prime Minister Chinh will serve as Head of the Steering Committee. The deputy heads are include Permanent Deputy PM Nguyen Hoa Binh, who is also Standing Deputy Head, Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee Nguyen Van Nen, Minister of Finance Nguyen Van Thang, Governor of the State Bank of Vietnam Nguyen Thi Hong, and Secretary of the Da Nang Party Committee Nguyen Van Quang.
The 14 committee members comprise deputy ministers from the ministries of Finance, National Defence, Public Security, Industry and Trade, Science and Technology, Agriculture and Environment, Home Affairs, Justice, and Education and Training, along with chairmen of the People's Committees of Ho Chi Minh City and Da Nang City, and vice chairperson of the Government Office, the Supreme People’s Court, and the State Bank of Vietnam.
According to Decision No. 1718/QD-TTg dated 31 December 2024, the Steering Committee is tasked with giving orientations and strategies to develop the regional and international financial centres, particularly regulatory frameworks and policies to ensure their smooth operations. It will direct the formulation and operation of the centres' management structure. Besides, it will direct the arrangement of resources for infrastructure development and organise cooperative and consulting activities with competent domestic and international agencies./.
