The MilitaryRegion 7 High Command plans to step up mass mobilisation activities and buildcloser relations with the people, said a senior officer.

Major General Du Truong Giang, Deputy Commanderof the Military Region 7, made the assertion at a recent meeting with head ofthe Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee’s Commission for MassMobilisation Truong Thi Mai in Ho Chi Minh City. Giang said the region’s officers and soldierswill strive to fulfill all tasks assigned by the Party and State. Mai said apart from standing ready to combat,the Military Region 7 has paid attention to mass mobilisation by building goodrelations with relevant units in and out of the city as well as launchingcampaigns to encourage people from all social strata to follow the Party andState’s policies. She congratulated the Military Region 7 on theoccasion of the 73rd founding anniversary of the Vietnam People’s Army(December 22) and the 28th anniversary of the All-People’s Defence Festival(December 22). While visiting the Saigon Newport Corporation,Mai expressed her hope that the corporation will continue promoting massmobilisation activities. Rear Admiral Nguyen Dang Nghiem said thecompany will maintain and develop effective models to improve the work andcreate favourable conditions for units to fulfil the key tasks of nationaldefence and business production.-VNA
