More foreign leaders congratulate Vietnam on National Day

Hanoi (VNA) – Greetings from leaders of countries continued to arrive on the occasion of Vietnam’s 74th anniversary of National Day (September 2). 

In his message sent to Party General Secretary and President Nguyen Phu Trong and Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc, Sultan of Brunei Hassanal Bolkiah expressed his belief that the Vietnam – Brunei comprehensive partnership will further grow in fields of mutual interest in the near future. 

He said Vietnam and Brunei continue to be important partners at regional and global forums, and affirmed that Brunei supports Vietnam in successfully playing the role of ASEAN Chair in 2020. 

In a message cabled to President Trong, President of the RoK Moon Jae-in expressed his wish to work with the Vietnamese President to further deepen bilateral links in a mutually-beneficial and future-looking way. 

US President Donald J. Trump, for his part, expressed his profound gratitude for Vietnam’s successful organisation of the historic US – DPRK Summit in February 2019. 

He wished to continue cooperating with Vietnam to strengthen bilateral relationship and step up joint priorities in Indo-Pacific. 

Other congratulatory messages came from Chairman of the Workers' Party of Korea and Chairman of the State Affairs Commission of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) Kim Jong-un, DPRK Premier Kim Jae Ryong, Italian President Sergio Mattarella, Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelensky, Hungarian President Ader Janos, Mongolian President Khaltmaa Battulga, Mongolian Prime Minister Ukhnaa Khurelsukh, and King of Sweden Carl Gustaf. 

On the occasion, DPRK Foreign Minister Ri Yong-ho, Mongolian Foreign Minister Damin Tgogtbaatar, and Serbian Deputy Prime Minister and  Foreign Minister Ivica Dacic also extended congratulations to Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh.-VNA
