- Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh hosted a reception for leaders of several leading corporations in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) operating in the areas of infrastructure development and management, seaport, logistics and industrial park on October 27 as part of his ongoing official trip to the nation.

The guests included Chairman of Prime Group Tamer Wagih Salem, Managing Director and Group CEO of Abu Dhabi Ports Group Mohamed Juma Al Shamisi, NMDC Energy CEO Niels De Bruijn, and CEO of Emirates Driving Company Khaled Al Shemeili. Read full story

- Permanent Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Nguyen Minh Vu paid a working visit to the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) from October 21-26, and co-chaired the 5th Vietnam - DPRK policy exchange at the deputy foreign ministerial level.

- A high-level delegation from the Ministry of Public Security led by Deputy Minister Senior Lieutenant General Tran Quoc To paid a working visit to Cuba on October 22-26.

During the delegation's talks with Lieutenant General Lázaro Alberto Álvarez Casas, Minister of the Interior of Cuba, both sides assessed the progress of the two ministries' cooperation agreement signed in 2018. - A delegation of the Commission for the Management of State Capital at Enterprises (CMSC) led by its Vice Chairman Nguyen Canh Toan had working sessions with representatives of the Italian insurance and finance group SACE, the CDP Group, and the SIMEST Group on October 24 and 25, as part of their ongoing working trip to Italy.

In the meeting with SACE - the entity that specialises in providing investment financial solutions for Italian businesses, Toan said representatives of Vietnam’s leading state-owned corporations and enterprises in key economic sectors of transport, aviation, telecommunications, and finance, hope that by learning international experience, they will continue to innovate state capital management and corporate governance methods, demonstrating their leadership role in economic sectors and helping to realise the Vietnamese Government's macroeconomic goals. - French businesses reiterated their commitment to supporting Vietnam's green growth and ambitious goal of achieving carbon net-zero emissions by 2050 at the recently organised Green Economy Forum & Exhibition (GEFE) 2024 in Ho Chi Minh City.

- Typhoon Trami, the sixth to hit the East Sea this year, made landfall in the central localities of Thua Thien-Hue, Da Nang and Quang Nam at about 1 pm on October 27, bringing heavy rain and strong winds.
