- General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) Central Committee To Lam and General Secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and President of China Xi Jinping talked over the phone on January 15, during which both leaders affirmed commitments to prioritising the enhancement of relations between the two countries.

The committee, which was formed following the PM’s Decision No. 72/QD-TTg issued on January 10, is tasked with overseeing the continued implementation of the nuclear power project in the south-central province of Ninh Thuan. Its tasks include supervising progress, proposing solutions to address obstacles during its construction, and directing necessary amendments to relevant laws to ensure the development of nuclear power while maintaining quality, safety, security, and effectiveness. 𒆙 - The National Assembly (NA) Standing Committee decided to relieve Duong Van An from the position of NA deputy at its meeting on January 15.

A resolution on the relief of An, a member of the delegation of NA deputies of the northern province of Vinh Phuc, was issued on the basis the Constitution, the Law on the Organisation of the NA, and relevant legal regulations, as well as the opinions of authorised agencies and the proposal of the NA's Committee for Deputy Affairs, and after considering An's resignation request. - The Government on January 15 issued a resolution on visa exemptions for citizens of Poland, the Czech Republic and Switzerland as part of a tourism stimulus programme in 2025.

The resolution specifies that citizens of these European countries will be granted visa-free entry for a stay of up to 45 days for tourism purposes. The programme applies to those traveling under itineraries organised by Vietnamese international tour operators, regardless of passport types, provided they meet Vietnam’s legal entry requirements. - Vietnam’s GDP growth is projected to reach 7.5% under normal conditions and up to 8% in an optimistic scenario for 2025, according to a research group at the Bank for Investment and Development of Vietnam (BIDV).
