Hanoi (VNA) – Morocco will enhance high-ranking visits to Vietnam andcontinue bilateral cooperation at regional and international forums, VicePresident of the Moroccan House of Representatives Mohammed Ouzzine hassaid.
Heand other Vice President of the Moroccan House of Representatives AminaMaelainine were received by Chairwoman of the National Assembly (NA) of VietnamNguyen Thi Kim Ngan in Hanoi on January 19.
Nganwelcomed the Moroccan delegates, who are attending the 26th Annual Meeting ofthe Asia-Pacific Parliamentary Forum (APPF-26) and congratulated Morocco on itselection as Vice President of the 72nd Session of the United Nations GeneralAssembly.
She said two-way trade value of 190 million USD in 2016 is modest and belowexpectations so the two countries should step up economic and trade cooperationand bolster links between businesscommunities and trade associations in trade, tourism, finance, renewable energyand bilateral investment.
Forhis part, Mohammed Ouzzine highly valued Vietnam’s organisation of the APPF-26.
With similarities in history and thriving politicalties, Vietnam and Morocco will assume significant roles to connect the AfricanUnion and the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), he added.
Ouzzine stressed the cooperation agreement signed by the twocountries during the Moroccan House of Representatives President’s trip toVietnam in last December would serve as an important legal basis for futurebilateral collaboration.-VNA
The 26th Annual Meeting of the Asia-Pacific Parliamentary Forum (APPF-26) will feature two plenary sessions on politics-security and economics-trade matters on January 19, the second working day of the event.
