Muong Lo Culture, Tourism Week suspended as President passes away
The Muong Lo Culture and Tourism Week 2018, as well as a festival to explore the terraced fields of Mu Cang Chai district in the northern mountainous province of Yen Bai, will be suspended due to President Tran Dai Quang’s sudden passing.

Yen Bai (VNA) – The Muong Lo Culture and Tourism Week 2018, aswell as a festival to explore the terraced fields of Mu Cang Chai district in thenorthern mountainous province of Yen Bai, will be suspended due to PresidentTran Dai Quang’s sudden passing.
Vice Chairman of theprovincial People’s Committee Duong Van Tien made the announcement on September21.
Previously, the event was scheduled to take place from September 21-25. The cultureand tourism week was set to open on September 21 night in Nghia Lo town, andthe festival would be opened on September 22 night in My Cang Chai district.
Member of the Politburo of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee andPresident of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam Tran Dai Quang passed away at10:05am on September 21 in Hanoi at the age of 62.
According to the Board of Healthcare Services for Senior Officials, thePresident died at Military Central Hospital 108 due to serious illness. –VNA

The Muong Lo Tourism-Culture Week and the Mu Cang Chai Terraced Field Festival will take place in the northern mountainous province of Yen Bai on September 21-25.
