The consultation was co-chaired by Chinese Deputy Foreign Minister Kong Xuanyouand Deputy Chief of the Joint Staff Department of the Central MilitaryCommission Shao Yuanming from the Chinese side, and Minister of InternationalCooperation U Kyaw Tin and Commander-in-Chief of No.1 Bureau of SpecialOperations (Army) Tun Tun Naung from the Myanmar side.
The two sides pledged to implement the consensus reached by their leaders, andupgrade the strategic cooperation partnership to a new height.
They exchanged views on the situation in northern Myanmar, and agreed thatproperly managing the situation in the area and safeguarding peace andstability in the border areas play an important role in maintaining bilateralties and promoting peace process in Myanmar.
Both sides also vowed to effectively apply current bilateral exchangemechanisms relating to diplomacy, military and public security; and continuetheir collaboration on the situation in northern Myanmar.
They agreed to hold the next round of talks in China. - VNA
