Hanoi (VNA) – Myanmar has allowed the reopening of pagodas but limited the number ofvisitors after a temporary closure due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

According to a statement by the Ministry of Religious Affairs & Culture of Myanmar, the decision ismade after the country has partially controlled COVID-19 outbreaks thanks toeffective control and treatment measures.

Those who go to temples must follow pandemic prevention guidelines issued bythe Ministry of Health and Sports.

Meanwhile, the government of Malaysia on February 8 issued a new ministerialorder which is enforced on February 9 until August 1.

Accordingly, cabinet ministers who return fromany official visit abroad are required to undergo medical observation for threedays or surveillance until they can be discharged without danger to the public.

The order was developed under the Prevention and Control of Infectious DiseasesAct and approved by Malaysian Health Minister Adham Baba.

However, Malaysians returning from abroad are required to be on quarantine for10 days if they have not had a COVID-19 test./.
