Myanmar State Counsellor Suu Kyi to visit China

Myanmar State Counsellor Aung San Suu Kyi will attend the upcoming Communist Party of China (CPC) in Dialogue with World Political Parties' High-Level Meeting in Beijing at the invitation of the Chinese Government, the Myanmar News Agency has reported.

- Myanmar State Counsellor Aung San Suu Kyiwill attend the upcoming Communist Party of China (CPC) in Dialogue with WorldPolitical Parties' High-Level Meeting in Beijing at the invitation of theChinese Government, the Myanmar News Agency has reported.

Leaders from more than 200 parties and political organisations in morethan 120 countries have registered for the meeting, which is scheduled to takeplace from November 30 to December 3. 

According to the official announcement, Suu Kyi, who is also ForeignMinister of Myanmar, will also pay a visit to China on the occasion tostrengthen bilateral relations between Myanmar and China.

The visit, which marked her first trip to a foreign country outside ofthe Association of Southeast Asian Nations, a regional grouping to whichMyanmar belongs, highlighted the priority Myanmar places on its northernneighbour.-VNA
