Hanoi (VNA) ꦆ- Myanmar's Union Peace Dialogue Joint Committee (UPDJC), led by State Counselor Aung San Suu Kyi, has introduced the structure and work guidelines on the organisation of the first national-level political dialogue in November.

The UPDJC’s two-day meeting, which closed on October 29, put forth nine decisions needed for the national-level political dialogue, seen as a step forward with the peace process, according to UPDJC Vice Chairman Dr. Tin Myo Win.
On the first day of the meeting, Aung San Suu Kyi proposed to hold the dialogue in three types, basing on region, national cause and ethnic affairs. She held that stopping conflict is the only way to achieve peace, calling for every effort to be made to realise it.
The Myanmar government is making efforts to allow non-signatory armed groups to the Nationwide Ceasefire Accord (NCA) to join and complete the signing before the dialogue as agreed at the 21st Century Panglong Peace Conference held in August-September. The government's Peace Commission and Delegation for Political Negotiation (DPN) of the United Nationalities Federal Council (UNFC) had a meeting to review the political dialogue in Yangon. The upcoming political dialogue is expected to represent inclusively opinions and voices of the people, including ethnic people, towards establishing a union based on democracy and federal system as outlines in the NCA for peace building.-VNA
