NA chairman attends AIPA Executive Commitee meeting

Jakarta (VNA)❀ – Chairman of the National Assembly Vuong Dinh Hue on August 6 attended a meeting of the ASEANInter-Parliamentary Assembly (AIPA) Executive Committee, within the framework ofthe 44th AIPA General Assembly (AIPA -44) in Jakarta.
At the meeting, Hueand leaders of parliaments from other countries discussed and approvedactivities of the 44th AIPA General Assembly, topics and agendas of themeetings of Women Parliamentarians of the ASEAN Inter-Parliamentary Assembly,AIPA Young Parliamentarians and Political Committees, Economic Committees,Social Committees, Organisation Committees, Dialogue with observers; and time andplace for the 45th General Assembly of AIPA.
The theme of the AIPA-44 General Assembly is "Aproactive parliament for a stable and prosperous ASEAN" which is coherentand consistent with ASEAN's theme this year “ASEAN Matters: Epicentrum ofGrowth”, highlighting the adaptability ofASEAN parliaments in the context of changes of regional and internationalrelations, emphasising dialogues and consultations, strengtheningcoordination between legislative and executive channels, and contributing to strengtheningsolidarity and centrality of ASEAN.

At the meeting, the leaders spoke highly of the selection of the topic of theAIPA-44 which represents AIPA's message and wishes of the host country Indonesia- the ASEAN Chair and the AIPA President 2023 - highlighting the role of ASEAN,AIPA and AIPA member parliaments in promoting peace, security, resilience andsustainable and inclusive development of the region to make ASEAN a centre ofgrowth, leaving no one behind./.
National Assembly (NA) Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue’s participation at the 44th General Assembly of the ASEAN Inter-Parliamentary Assembly (AIPA-44) in Indonesia shows Vietnam’s commitment to acting as an active, proactive and responsible member of the AIPA for the development of parliamentary diplomacy, as well as interest of all people in ASEAN.
National Assembly (NA) Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue held talks with Speaker of the People’s Representative Council (lower house) of Indonesia Puan Maharani in Jakarta on August 4, during which he underlined that Vietnam attaches great importance to developing the strategic partnership with Indonesia.
Vietnam has made significant contributions to the ASEAN Inter-Parliamentary Assembly (AIPA) in general and the 44th AIPA General Assembly in particular, AIPA Secretary General Siti Rozaimeriyanty Dato Haji Abdul Rahman has affirmed.
Regional media outlets have highlighted the significance of Vietnamese National Assembly (NA) Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue’s official visit to Indonesia and attendance in the 44th General Assembly of the ASEAN Inter-Parliamentary Assembly (AIPA-44).
The trip will be made at the invitations of Chinese Premier Li Qiang and WEF President and CEO Børge Brende, according to an announcement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
