NA Chairman hails public security force’s contributions to COVID-19 fight
National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue hailed important contributions of the public security force to the fight against COVID-19 while addressing the Ministry of Public Security’s conference to review the force’s emulation movement to ensure social order and safety while combating the pandemic on December 11 in Ho Chi Minh City.

HCM City (VNA) – National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue hailedimportant contributions of the public security force to the fight againstCOVID-19 while addressing the Ministry of Public Security’s conference toreview the force’s emulation movement to ensure social order and safety whilecombating the pandemic on December 11 in Ho Chi Minh City.
A total of 150,000 personnel of the Ministry ofPublic Security’s units have participated in the frontline of the fight againstCOVID-19, directly getting involved in tracing, detecting and quarantiningCOVID-19 patients and those with possible contact with them; ensuring securityand order at checkpoints and quarantine facilities. Meanwhile, nearly 2,000medical staff in the force have worked at COVID-19 treatment hospitals. The publicsecurity force has effectively applied the national database on population toserve pandemic prevention and control.
In addition, the force has well completed its task ofprotecting national security, ensuring social order and safety, and proactivelypromulgating plans to protect important political events of the country,especially the elections of deputies to the 15th National Assemblyand the People's Councils at all levels for the 2021-2025 term.
It has helped reduce the number of crimes by 8.06 percent compared to 2020, Huestated.
The top legislator also lauded the ministry’s importantcontributions to the success of the country’s vaccine strategy.
He requested the police force to improve the efficiency ofentry and exit management and control the risk of infections when Vietnamreopens regular international flights expected for the beginning of 2021./.
