NA Chairwoman arrives in Astana for Kazakhstan visit

Astana (VNA) - Chairwoman of the National Assembly of Vietnam Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan arrivedin Astana on October 16 afternoon, beginning her three-day official visit toKazakhstan.
She was welcomed at Nursultan Nazarbayev international airport by VietnameseAmbassador to Kazakhstan Doan Thi Xuan Hien, Vice Chairman of the Mazhilis (lowerhouse) of the Parliament of Kazakhstan Bojko Vladimir Karpovich and staff ofthe Vietnamese Embassy in Kazkhastan.
This is the first-ever visit to Kazakhstan by a Vietnamese National Assemblyhead.
The visit is being made at the invitation of Chairman of the Senate of theParliament Kassym Zhomart Tokayev and Chairman of the Mazhilis (lower house) ofthe Parliament Nurlan Nigmatulin.
The Vietnamese and Kazakh legislative bodies have also maintainedcollaboration, both bilaterally and multilaterally.
The visit to Kazakhstan byChairwoman Ngan is expected to foster the bilateral partnership in economy,trade, investment, energy and culture-education.

Kazakhstan wants to boost cooperation with Vietnam, especially in politics, trade and investment, Kazakh Ambassador to Vietnam Beketzhan Zhumakhanov has said.
Kazakhstan can be the gateway for Vietnamese firms to enter the East Europe market, according to Kazakhstan’s Ambassador to Vietnam Beketzhan Zhumakhanov.

During the negotiations, the US highly evaluated Vietnam’s goodwill and efforts, affirmed its appreciation for the bilateral relationship, acknowledged Vietnam’s proposals and concerns, and considered these an important basis for continuing discussions and moving towards a final agreement.
The Chairman stressed the need for stricter fiscal discipline, faster digital transformation, and more efficient management of State budget revenues and expenditures.
