Chairwoman of the National Assembly of Vietnam Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan stated that Vietnam’s Party and State leaders have always supported and provided all favourable conditions for the people’s organizations of Vietnam to unceasingly strengthen the friendship and cooperation with their Lao counterparts.

Hanoi(VNA) - Chairwoman of the National Assembly of Vietnam Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan statedthat Vietnam’s Party and State leaders have always supported and provided allfavourable conditions for the people’s organizations of Vietnam to unceasinglystrengthen the friendship and cooperation with their Lao counterparts.
She made thestatement at a reception for Somphan Phengkhammy, a Party Central Committeemember, Vice National Assembly Chairman, and President of the Committee forPeace and Solidarity of Laos in Hanoi on August 22.
Ngan spoke highly offriendship and cooperative activities of the people’s organizations of the twocountries, including the Peace Committee of Vietnam and the Committee for Peaceand Solidarity of Laos, saying these activities have contributed pragmaticallyto cementing the time-honoured bilateral ties.
She wished the friendship and cooperation between the two people in general andthe two peace committees would reap bigger achievements and help withconsolidating the special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation betweenVietnam and Laos.
Somphanh Phengkhammybriefed Chairwoman Ngan of the outcomes of his talks with Uong Chu Luu, NA ViceChairman and President of the Peace Committee, saying the two sides agreed tocontinue bolstering cooperation in practical activities, and working togetherand supporting each other in people-to-people diplomacy and in communicationcampaigns to popularize the two countries’ special solidarity and friendship.
On the occasion,host and guest agreed that the two law-making bodies will continue workingclosely in speeding up the building of the Laos National Assembly House as theproject is significant to promoting the special solidarity between the twocountries. -VNA

During the negotiations, the US highly evaluated Vietnam’s goodwill and efforts, affirmed its appreciation for the bilateral relationship, acknowledged Vietnam’s proposals and concerns, and considered these an important basis for continuing discussions and moving towards a final agreement.
The Chairman stressed the need for stricter fiscal discipline, faster digital transformation, and more efficient management of State budget revenues and expenditures.
