Hanoi (VNA) – PartyGeneral Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong has emphasised the significance of Vietnam-Laostraditional friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation to theParties and people of the two countries.
During a reception in Hanoi onAugust 21 for Khamphanh Phommathat, Politburo member, Secretary of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party (LPRP) CentralCommittee and head of the LPRP Central Committee Office, GeneralSecretary Trong hailed the Lao delegation’s visit at a time when the twocountries are celebrating the 55th anniversary of diplomatic tiesand 40 years since the signing of the Vietnam-Laos Treaty of Amity andCooperation.
He spoke highly of cooperationbetween the Offices of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) Central Committeeand the LPRP Central Committee in the recent past and the outcomes of their freshly-endedworking session.
The Vietnamese Party leaderexpressed wish that the two offices would continue working closely together andshare experience and professionalism to fulfill their assigned tasks andeffectively implement the bilateral cooperation agreement for 2017-2020 and an actionplan to carry out the cooperation programme on recordsmanagement, archives and library.
Phommathat informed the hostabout the recent situation in Laos, including the implementation of theResolution approved at the 10th National Congress of the LPRP, andthe outcomes of collaboration between the two offices over the past years andthe talks during the visit.
He affirmed that the Office of the LPRP CentralCommittee will continue coordinating closely with its Vietnamese counterpart toeffectively implement agreements between the two countries’ Party leaders,including the deal between the two offices so as to lift bilateral ties to a newheight.-VNA
