TheVietnamese NA leader lauded the IPU President and former President for theiropinions at the opening and plenary sessions of the 26th Annual Meetingof the Asia-Pacific Parliamentary Forum (APPF-26).
Shealso thanked the guests for providing support for the Vietnamese legislatureover the past years.
Barronexpressed her wish to invite Vietnam to many events hosted by the IPU.
Theguest also highly valued the Hanoi Declaration entitled “The SustainableDevelopment Goals: Turning Words into Action” that was issued at the 132nd Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union.
Onthe occasion, Ngan presented the Friendship Order to former IPU President SaberHossain Chawdhury in the 2014-2017 term and to IPU Secretary General MartinChungong for their active and effective dedication to fostering friendship andcooperation between the Vietnamese NA and IPU, thus improving Vietnam’s staturein the international arena.
Chowdhury, in his speech, said the development of theIPU is partly supported by active members, including the Vietnamese NA.-VNA

The National Assembly of Vietnam will soon implement the sustainable development goals (SDGs) self-assessment toolkit built by the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).
