NA reviews implementation results of food safety policies
National Assembly deputies on June 5 discussed a report detailing supervision results of the implementation of law and policy on food safety in the 2011-2016 period.
Hanoi (VNA) – National Assembly deputies on June 5discussed a report detailing supervision results of the implementation of lawand policy on food safety in the 2011-2016 period.
The session heard opinions of 47 deputies, mostly focusingon the issuance of law and policy on food safety, the current situation of foodsafety in the 2011-2016 period, communications in the work, and the publicinvestment in the management of food.
They discussed the allocation of responsibility in Statemanagement over food safety, personnel for the work, the inspection andsettlement of violations in the field, and measures to control food poisoningand food-transferred diseases.
The deputies also mentioned solutions and role of agencies,organisations and individuals in implementing law and policies on food safety.
Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam, Minister of Agricultureand Rural Development Nguyen Xuan Cuong, and Minister of Health Nguyen Thi KimTien attended the session to clarified some issues raised by the deputies.
As scheduled, on June 6, the NA deputies will give ideas ona verification report on the revised Law on Fisheries, while debating reportsrelated to the approval of a supplementary treaty to the Vietnam-Laos BorderDelimitation Treaty and of a protocol on border line and landmark between thetwo countries.
They will also hear a verification report on the revised Law on ForestProtection and Development, and give opinions on the law on guard force.-VNA
Vietnam’s Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development and Denmark’s Ministry of Environment and Food shared experience in food safety management for pork value chains at a workshop in Ho Chi Minh City on May 23.
