NA Standing Committee to meet again on October 3

The 14th National Assembly Standing Committee will convene its fourth meeting on October 3 to prepare for the legislature’s second session scheduled to begin on October 20.

Hanoi (VNA)
– The 14th National Assembly Standing Committee will convene its fourth meeting on October 3 to prepare for the legislature’s second session sche🦄duled to begin on October 20.

From October 3-6, the committee will give opinions on several draft laws, including the law amending and supplementing several articles of the Penal Code No. 100/2015/QH13, the revised Anti-Corruption Law and the Planning Law. They will also debate the auditing plan for 2017, a report on the handling of voters’ petitions sent to the 13th NA’s 11 th meeting, along with another report on the reception of citizens and their complaints as well as the NA supervision of the handling of public complaints in 2016.
The Government, the Supreme People’s Court and the Supreme People’s Procuracy will also present their reports on the settlement of public complaints and petitions in the year. The lawmakers are due to give feedback on the committee’s draft resolution on the issuance of regulations and procedures regarding supervision activities of the NA, the NA Standing Committee and NA deputies’ delegation.
The committee will also assess the implementation of policies and laws on scientific and technological development to promote industrialisation and modernisation during 2005-2015. The implementation of the national target programme on building new-style rural areas in 2010-2015 in combination with agricultural restructuring will also be scrutinised. The committee will meet again on October 17 to look at the Government’s reports on the implementation of socio-economic development planss and State budget in 2016.
They will also examine the national socio-economic development plan, State budget estimates and State budget allocation in 2017, the five-year financial plan and medium-term public investment plan for 2016-2020.-VNA
