Hanoi (VNA) – The 22nd session of the National Assembly StandingCommittee closed in Hanoi on March 19 after seven days of sitting.
Ministerof Justice Le Thanh Long and Minister of Science and Technology Chu Ngoc Anhtook the floor and answered questions.
MinisterChu Ngoc Anh answered questions regarding the efficiency of adopting scientificresearch results in real life, control of technology export-import inproduction and services, and technological adoption in service ofsocio-economic development.
Hesaid the Party and State have paid due attention to the application of hightechnologies in agricultural production.
Hesaid eight chain factories will be inaugurated this year to facilitatetechnological transfer in agriculture.
Joiningthe question-and-answer session, Minister of Industry and Trade Tran Tuan Anhsaid the ministries of Industry and Trade, Agriculture and Rural Development,and Science and Technology will work closely together to launch chain modelsand rearrange market planning and production.
Aboutconcern over the import of outdated technologies, Minister Anh said theministry will issue decrees and directives guiding the enforcement of theamended Law on Technological Transfer.
For his part, Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Nguyen Xuan Cuongpointed to policy, work performance, and scientific and technologicalapplication as the three main causes affecting the development of agriculture,of which scientific and technological application is decisive and crucial tothe competitiveness of the country’s farm products.
DeputyPrime Minister Vu Duc Dam said Vietnam currently ranks 47th globallyin innovation index and 38th in technological expertise.
Hecalled on the State to issue practical mechanisms to make firms really become acentre of creativity and innovation.
Concludingthe meeting, NA Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan said the Standing Committeepiloted some changes in this question-and-answer session, which enabled moreinteractions between legislators and ministers in dealing with the issuesraised.
Sheasked the government, the Council of Ethnic Affairs, the NA committees andagencies to promptly prepare quality bills to submit to the NA StandingCommittee for consideration during the 23th and 24th sessionscheduled for April and May.-VNA
