NA Standing Committee’s 23rd session concludes

Hanoi (VNA) – The National Assembly (NA) StandingCommittee discussed preparations for the fifth sitting of the legislature andadopted two resolutions during six working days of its 23rd sessionthat wrapped up in Hanoi on April 17.

In her closing remarks, NA Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Nganasked the Government and the NA’s committees to coordinate with agencies of theGovernment and others concerned to acquire opinions of the NA StandingCommittee to promptly complete draft laws, supervision reports and draft lawmaking programmes in 2019.

Such documents should be sent to NA deputies ahead of thefifth meeting in May as scheduled, the top legislator said.

She also called for joint efforts between the NA’s relevantcommittees and the Government to swiftly prepare for the submission of thedraft Law on Public Security (amended) and the law amending and supplementinglaws relating to the Planning Law to the 24th session of thecommittee slated for May 14-16.

The 24th session, the last one before the fifthmeeting of the NA, will focus on socio-economic issues, state budget, voters’opinions and a number of draft laws and resolutions.

Earlier, the legislators looked into the law amending andsupplementing a number of articles of the Construction Law, the Housing Law,the Law on Real Estate Trading and the Law on Urban Planning. -VNA
