Hanoi (VNA) –
Deputies cast their votes to adopt two laws and oneresolution at the ongoing fourth session of the 14th NationalAssembly in Hanoion November 21.

With 90.84 percent of approval, the Law on amendments andsupplements to some articles of the Law on Overseas Representative Missions ofthe Socialist Republic of Vietnam will take effect from July 1, 2018.

It highlights specific criteria for members of thecountry’s representative offices such as political firmness, professioncompetence, and language proficiency, as well as preferential policies formembers of Vietnamese representative missions such as spouses and theirchildren.

Adopted with 89.21 percent of yes votes, the resolution onchanging the roadmap to implement Resolution 88/2014/QH 13 on reforming thecurriculum and textbook for general education set a deadline for theapplication of new curriculum and textbook at primary school (from the2020-2021 academic year), secondary school (from the 2021-2022 academic year),and high school (from the 2022-2023 academic year).

The Government will direct the work, arrange financialresources and prepare all necessary conditions from the teaching and managerialstaff to infrastructure.

With 89 percent of approval, the revised Law on Fisheriescomprises nine chapters, 105 articles regulating aquatic activities, rights andobligations of relevant organisations and individuals, and State management inthe field.

It applies for Vietnamese organisations and individuals andforeign ones operating in seafood or relevant activities in Vietnam’sislands, archipelagos, water areas, and off the coast.

The revised Law will come into effect from January 1,2019.-VNA
