HCM City (VNA) – The national startup day for students 2020 kickedoff in Ho Chi Minh City on November 23.

In his opening remarks, Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Damspoke highly of efforts made by the Ministry of Labour, Invalids and SocialAffairs and HCM City to create a helpful “playing ground” for students.

To make Vietnam a “dragon” of Asia, students should take thelead in doing something new that no one has done, and make new startup ideas.

Sharing the same view, Chairman of the municipal People’sCommittee Nguyen Thanh Phong said that startup models and support activities inthe city are more diverse in different aspects of the socio-economic life.

Through start-up support policies, HCM City now has a safe,open and effective investment environment with 440,000 enterprises, accountingfor 32 percent of the country’s total number.

To carry out a project to support students in starting businessuntil 2025, the city’s high schools, vocational schools, colleges anduniversities add training programmes on startups.

The city has also organised many workshops on startup andjob fairs, and worked to better the startup ecosystem, added Phong./.
