National Tourism Year 2020 to be launched in Ninh Binh

The National Tourism Year 2020 will be launched in the northern province of Ninh Binh on February 20, 2020, heard a press conference in Hanoi on December 10.

Hanoi (VNA) – The National Tourism Year 2020will be launched in the northern province of Ninh Binh on February 20, 2020,heard a press conference in Hanoi on December 10.

The closing ceremony is scheduled for December 2020.

According to the organising board, the year will take thetheme “Hoa Lu – ancient capital of a thousand years” with 27 activities,including Bai Dinh pagoda festival that will open on January 30, Hoa Lufestival from April 1-3, and Trang An festival from April 10 to the late May2020.

The Miss Capital ASEAN 2020 final round, the “Yellow Tam Coc- Trang An” tourism week, an international workshop on “xam” singing, a musicexchange between provinces having world heritages and twinning localities athome and abroad, the second Trang An marathon tournament, and Ninh Binh tradeand tourism fair are also planned for.

Other activities include Dau temple festival, Duc ThanhNguyen temple festival, Thai Vi temple festival, display of Ninh Binh antiques,the Hoa Lu Volleyball Cup 2020, a photo competition themed “Ninh Binh land andpeople”, an international symposium on the preservation of world cultural andnatural heritage values in combination with sustainable tourism development, amongothers.

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism will alsoorganise 11 activities while 24 cities and provinces hold 79 events in responseto the year.

Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee PhamQuang Ngoc said the year will help popularise values of local tangible andintangible heritages to the public, thus contributing to local socio-economicdevelopment./.
