Hanoi (VNA) - The national women's futsal team has officially gathered in Ho Chi Minh City to begin preparations for the AFC Women's Futsal Asian Cup 2025, which is slated for May.

The team has seen 12 out of 18 members present, with the remaining six players expected to join the squad after the 2025 National Women's Football Cup concludes in early April. In the first training session on March 24, coach Nguyen Dinh Hoang instructed the players to perform light exercises and tactical movement drills.

The coaching staff has closely studied the playing styles of the team's first two opponents in the finals – the Philippines and Hong Kong (China) - through recent matches and will prepare specific plans to cope with these rivals. For the more formidable opponent in the group stage, Iran, the coaching staff has analysed their tactics in the region and developed a preparation plan aimed at achieving the best possible results.

Along with applying a suitable training plan for the 12 available players, the coaches will work with the remaining players through online sessions, using video footage to help them quickly catch up.

Last year, the team has had numerous opportunities for international competition. Coach Hoang assessed that through each tournament, the players have shown significant improvements and achieved notable results.
