Hanoi (VNA) – The NationalAssembly Standing Committee approved the establishment of two townships in southernBinh Duong province and another in central Ha Tinh province on July 11, theopening day of the committee’s 25th session.
Members of the committee passed a resolution onthe establishment of Lai Uyen township in Bau Bang district and Tan Thanh townshipin Bac Tan Uyen district, both in Binh Duong. They also approved anotherresolution on the formation of Dong Loc township in Can Loc district, in HaTinh.
Lai Uyen township covers nearly 88.36 sq.km andhas a population of over 32,000 from the former Lai Uyen commune, while TanThanh township covers 26.88 sq.km and has a population of nearly 8,600 from theformer Tan Thanh commune.
With the establishment of these townships, BinhDuong province now has nine administrative units at the district level (onecity, four towns, and four districts) and 91 others at the communal level (46communes, 41 wards, and four townships).
Meanwhile, Dong Loc township is set up on thebasis of the 18.69 sq.km with over 6,000 people from the former Dong Loccommune.
As a result, Ha Tinh province now has13 administrative units at the district level (10 districts, two towns, and onecity) and 262 others at the communal level (229 communes, 21 wards, and 12townships).
At the meeting, the National Assembly StandingCommittee also approved resolutions on the formation of the People’s Court andthe People’s Procuracy of Phu My town, in the southern province of Ba Ria-VungTau. -VNA
The National Assembly’s Standing Committee has announced resolutions on the establishment of Phu My township in southern Ba Ria-Vung Tau province and Phuoc Cat town in the Central Highlands province of Lam Dong.
A ceremony was held in the southern province of Ba Ria-Vung Tau on May 18 to announce the National Assembly Standing Committee’s resolution on the establishment of Phu My township and its wards.
The National Assembly Standing Committee began its 25th session on July 11 with discussions on contentious points in the draft law on the Vietnam Coast Guard.
The trip will be made at the invitations of Chinese Premier Li Qiang and WEF President and CEO Børge Brende, according to an announcement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
