Hanoi (VNA) –The SAP, one of the largest European software companies, and the United Nation Children’s Fund (UNICEF) have announced a new cooperation programme on training life and digital skills for young people in poor Vietnamese regions.
The fund said on October 1 that the course will benefit 11,000 students in high schools and vocational training schools during the first year, focusing on female students, including ethnic minorities and disabled ones. Rana Flowers from the UNICEF expressed her delight at cooperating with the SAP to tap the ability of young people, helping them contribute to socio-economic development. SAP Vietnam Managing Director Josephin Galla vowed to enhance coordination with Government agencies and build the best curricula for workforce in the future. The programme is part of the Generation Unlimited campaign, which is a global partnership launched a year ago to prepare young people to become productive and engaged citizens. It connects education and training to employment and entrepreneurship, empowering every young person to thrive in the world of work./.

The World Bank (WB) and the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) have called for solid steps to handle undernutrition among Vietnamese children, and reaffirmed their strong commitments to work with the Government in this issue as the country is building its socio-economic development strategy for 2021-2030.
Choi Si-won, a member of the boy’s group Super Junior of the Republic of Korea, will join UNICEF’s #StopBullying campaign in Vietnam, which looks to raise awareness of young people on bullying and to engage them on how to develop solutions to end this problem.
Vietnam, together with 40 countries worldwide, has aligned itself to the voluntary global pledge “For every child, every right” to ensure no one is left behind, and to support every child to reach their full potential, said Ambassador Dang Dinh Quy, head of Vietnam’s permanent mission to the UN on September 25.
The programmes have brought about positive changes to rural infrastructure, comprehensively improved the material and spiritual lives of farmers, and contributed to Vietnam's economic restructuring, said PM Pham Minh Chinh.
The festival highlighted the contributions and robust development of Vietnam's revolutionary press over the past century while promoting press products and showcasing the creativity of Vietnamese journalists.
The programme on sustainable poverty reduction has achieved its annual targets for reducing the poverty rate as assigned by the National Assembly and the Government. It has fulfilled five specific objectives and five five-year goals, and met nine out of 12 indicators related to addressing basic social service shortages.
UNICEF stands ready to support the Government in implementing this important law and in continuing to invest in teachers as the cornerstone of a resilient, inclusive, and high-quality education system for all children.
