Ninh Binh seeks cooperation with Hungarian locality with similar conditions

Ninh Binh (VNA)♕ – Ninh Binh province places great importance on fostering cooperation with Hungary and hopes to receive support in establishing and signing cooperative ties with a Hungarian locality that shares similar characteristics, said Doan Minh Huan, Secretary of the provincial Party Committee.
At a reception on June 6 for a delegation from the Hungarian Socialist Party (MSZP), led by its President Komjáti Imre and his spouse, who are on a visit to Vietnam, Huan noted that the establishment of cooperative ties with a Hungarian locality will also contribute to nurturing and strengthening relations between the MSZP and the Communist Party of Vietnam, as well as between the Vietnamese and Hungarian States and people.
He briefed the guests on the province’s key achievements in Party and political system building, and socio-economic development, highlighting Ninh Binh’s strengths in industry, agriculture, tourism, and services.
Ninh Binh is currently one of Vietnam’s three largest automobile manufacturing hubs, home to Hyundai Thanh Cong's factory. It is also among the top three fruit and vegetable processing and export centres in the country. Additionally, the province is a significant spiritual centre for both Catholicism and Buddhism, and boasts the Trang An Scenic Landscape Complex, a UNESCO-recognised World Cultural and Natural Heritage Site.
Huan noted that 2025 is a special year as it marks the 75th founding anniversary of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Hungary. He affirmed that the Vietnamese people in general, and the people of Ninh Binh in particular, deeply evaluate and appreciate Hungary’s support during the country’s past struggle for independence and its national reconstruction efforts.

For his part, Imre expressed his gratitude for the warm welcome and hospitality extended by the leaders of Ninh Binh. He noted that the delegation was deeply impressed by Vietnam’s robust development, particularly its people-centred policy approach.
Imre welcomed Ninh Binh’s proposal to seek a Hungarian locality for partnership, describing it as a practical and specific activity, and pledged his support for the initiative.
At the reception, the Hungarian delegation and Ninh Binh leaders discussed potential areas of future cooperation. The Hungarian side highly appreciated Ninh Binh’s efforts in managing, preserving, and promoting its heritages, and expressed Hungary’s willingness to continue supporting Vietnam in training experts in tourism, engineering, digitalisation, and water resource management, which are considered vital for sustainable development./.
Member of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) Central Committee and deputy head of its the Commission for Information and Education and Mass Mobilisation Lai Xuan Mon said that the CPV always treasures and strengthens relations with Hungary in general and with political parties in Hungary in particular, including the MSZP, describing Imre's ongoing visit as an occasion for both sides to exchange orientations and specific measures to futher enhance cooperation between the two parties.
The two sides pledged to back the strengthening of Vietnam-Hungary relations in areas of mutual strength, including traditional areas such as education-training, culture, and people-to-people exchanges.
President Luong Cuong stressed that the Hungarian President’s official visit is a significant event that contributes to creating a breakthrough in deepening and enhancing the effectiveness of the Vietnam–Hungary Comprehensive Partnership.
The trip will be made at the invitations of Chinese Premier Li Qiang and WEF President and CEO Børge Brende, according to an announcement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Long spoke highly of the dynamic, positive, and comprehensive development of Vietnam – Russia relations in recent years. He affirmed that the Vietnamese Party and State place great importance on further strengthening the comprehensive strategic partnership with Russia in a substantive and effective manner, in line with the development needs of both nations.
At the conference, participants reported that the Government has so far issued 28 decrees on the delegation of responsibilities and powers between the central Government and two-tier local administrations. Several localities have already piloted the new governance model.
