Norway willing to share experience in clean energy development with Hanoi
Norway is willing to share its experience in boosting the use of clean and renewable energies with Vietnam, particularly Hanoi capital city, Norwegian Ambassador to Vietnam Grete Lochen affirmed when being received by Chairman of the municipal People’s Committee Nguyen Duc Chung on December 6.

Hanoi (VNA) – Norway is willing to share its experience in boostingthe use of clean and renewable energies with Vietnam, particularly Hanoicapital city, Norwegian Ambassador to Vietnam Grete Lochen affirmed when beingreceived by Chairman of the municipal People’s Committee Nguyen Duc Chung onDecember 6.
She told the host that an important goal ofthe Norwegian government is to develop a “blue economy” with numerous policiesand programmes protecting maritime resources.
Norway and Vietnam can cooperate in blueeconomy development and aquaculture, she suggested.
The diplomat vowed to do her utmost topromote the relationship between Norway and Vietnam, as well as Hanoi andNorwegian localities.
Chung said Hanoi borders no sea, but has alot of lakes and rivers. Therefore, the city wants to learn from Norway’sexperience in developing its blue economy in an environmentally friendly mannerfor pollution treatment and to promote the economic value of lakes and riversin the city.
The city also hopes to collaborate withNorwegian enterprises in the use of renewable energy in projects to generateelectricity from waste and to improve the national grid system, he added.
He also voiced his wish the ambassador willact as a bridge connecting the two countries as well as Hanoi and Norwegian localities.
He took the occasion to request theNorwegian Embassy work closely with the municipal People’s Committee toorganise activities in celebration of the 50th anniversary ofdiplomatic ties in 2021.-VNA
