The accident was thethird Thai army helicopter to have crashed within the past eightdays. The first helicopter, a Huey, crashed on July 16, in the KaengKrachan National Park, killing all five soldiers on board. Thesecond, a Black Hawk, crashed insider Myanmar near the KaengKrachan National Park on July 19 with nine victims.

According to Thai armyspokesman Col Sansern Kaewkamnerd, the Thai army Bell 212 helicopterfrom an air base in Lop Buri province was on a mission to search forbodies of the victims of the Black Hawk./.
