One more Vietnam-Laos border marker inaugurated

The border marker No. 790 at the Bo Y-Phu Cua border gate that links Vietnam ’s central highlands province of Kon Tum with Laos ’ Attpeu province was inaugurated on May 19.

Covering a site of 650 sq.m, the 2.2 metre high marker, which is madeof granite, was built at a cost of over 3 billion VND.

Ha Ban, Chairman of the Kon Tum provincial People’s Committee said themarker is among 28 new border markers to be erected along 58-km commonborder between the two provinces under a joint plan to strengthen thetwo countries’ border marker system.

The two provinces have so far completed the planning of 22 bordermarkers and are trying to fulfil the remaining markers by July, headded./.
