Over 4,100 households of Son La to access power before Tet

About 4,100 households in the northern mountainous province of Son La will gain access to power before the traditional Lunar New Year (Tet), according to the Son La Power Company.

Son La(VNA) – About 4,100 households in the northern mountainous province of Son Lawill gain access to power before the traditional Lunar New Year (Tet),according to the Son La Power Company.

The company hasimplemented a 378 billion VND project to supply electricity to 6,158 localhouseholds in four districts of Thuan Chau, Muong La, Bac Yen and Phu Yen since2017.

As part of the project,on February 8, a power supply work was launched in Nui Hong village in HuyThuong commune, Phu Yen district, providing electricity for 81 localhouseholds.

In 2018, the project,funded by the Northern Power Corporation, aims to give power to 6,000households.

Le Quang Thai, DeputyGeneral Director of the Northern Power Corporation said that as many as 93.35percent of local households in 27 localities covered by the firm have accessednational power grid. However, the figure is only 91.5 percent, he said, notingthat over 25,000 households of Son La have yet to enjoy electricity.

Since 2016, theVietnam Electricity and the Northern Power Corporation have launched threeprojects to supply power to nearly 13,000 households of Son La at a total costof over 600 billion VND.-VNA
