Hanoi (VNA) – Overseas Vietnamese children in different countries haveenjoyed a merry Mid-Autumn Festival with celebrations held in various forms.
In Moscow, the trade union of the Vietnamese Embassy inRussia held a programme on September 9 for children of the embassy and otherrepresentative agencies’ staff members to celebrate the festival, which fell onSeptember 10 this year.
Vietnamese Ambassador to Russia Dang Minh Khoi presentedrewards to the children with outstanding academic performance and gave an explanationof the Mid-Autumn Festival’s significance.
He stressed that the Party and State always care forchildren, regardless of where they live. He also encouraged them to keepstudying and making self-improvement to contribute to national development inthe future.
The same day, a musical programme was held at the MoscowTrade Centre (also called Liublino Market), where a large number of Vietnamesepeople are working, to mark the festival. Children of the overseas Vietnamesewere also presented with gifts on this occasion.
On September 10, students of the Tan Tien Khmer - Vietnam PrimarySchool in Chbar Ampov district of Cambodia’s Phnom Penh capital also receivedMid-Autumn Festival gifts.
The school has four facilities in Phnom Penh and provides teachingin the Khmer language to students from the preschool level to the fourth grade.
Meanwhile,Phat Tich Pagoda and the Vietnamese People Association in Vientiane held a festivalcelebration on September 10 with the participation of a large number ofVietnamese people and their children in the capital city of Laos.
A similar event was organised the same day by the liaisonboard of the Vietnamese community and the Vietnamese Embassy in Singapore. The ceremonyattracted not only hundreds of Vietnamese families but also internationalfriends like representatives of the People’s Association of Singapore and the Japanese andPhilippine people associations in Singapore.
Other celebrations were also held on September 10 by theVietnamese Embassy in Malaysia, the Vietnamese People Association in Malaysia’sKlang area, and the Vietnamese Embassy in the US./.
The Thang Long - Hanoi Heritage Conservation Centre is hosting a programme celebrating the Mid-Autumn Festival from September 2, offering a recreational space for children.
The traditional Mid-Autumn Festival 2022 opened along the “mural street” of Phung Hung in Hanoi on September 7, with interesting activities to be held.
