Prague (VNA)🅠 - The Vietnamese Embassy in Hungary has hosted an artprgramme to celebrate the Lunar New Year (Tet) with the participation of representativesof the Vietnamese community, Hungarian officials and foreign friends.
The event also aimed to mark the 93rd founding anniversary of the Communist Party of Vietnam (February 3, 1930 - 2023), the 73rdanniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam andHungary (February 3, 1950 - 2023), and 5 years of their ComprehensivePartnership (2018 - 2023). Addressing the event, Vietnamese Ambassador to Hungary Nguyen ThiBich Thao praised the outstanding achievements Vietnam has made in 2022 as wellas the development of the comprehensive partnership between Vietnam and Hungary in allspheres over the past years, including politics, economy, culture andpeople-to-people exchanges. The diplomat noted collaboration among ASEAN countrieshas been strengthened, while the Vietnamese community has held several practical and meaningfulactivities to well integrate in the host country, she said. The event showed the Vietnamese Party, State and government’saffection and attention to the Vietnamese community abroad - an indispensablepart and an important resources for the homeland’s development./.

According to the Central Committee of the Vietnam Red Cross Society (VRC), this year’s campaign provided long-term aid for 3,785 individuals and organisations. Support included houses, clean water systems, school meal facilities, books, and livelihood assistance, with a total value of more than 118 billion VND.
The programmes have brought about positive changes to rural infrastructure, comprehensively improved the material and spiritual lives of farmers, and contributed to Vietnam's economic restructuring, said PM Pham Minh Chinh.
The festival highlighted the contributions and robust development of Vietnam's revolutionary press over the past century while promoting press products and showcasing the creativity of Vietnamese journalists.
The programme on sustainable poverty reduction has achieved its annual targets for reducing the poverty rate as assigned by the National Assembly and the Government. It has fulfilled five specific objectives and five five-year goals, and met nine out of 12 indicators related to addressing basic social service shortages.
