Hanoi (VNA)
– The Palestinian administration chooses non-violent measures to address Palestine-Israel disputes, Palestinian Ambassador to Vietnam Saadi Salama told reporters in Hanoi on December 19.

Palestine is uniting its forces and political organisations to seek a common voice on the issue, he said.

The Palestinian Ambassador affirmed the national rights and human rights of Palestine, saying that they have been political and legal realities for long according to international law.

The US’s recognition of Jerusalem as the capital of Israel does not represent the opinion of the international community, Salama said, reiterating that Jerusalem is an inseparable part of Palestine.

Palestine welcomes the international community’s commitment to international law on Palestine’s human rights, he said.

On December 7, US President Donald Trump unilaterally recognised Jerusalem as the capital of Israel and announced plans to move the US embassy there from Tel Aviv.

The Vietnamese Foreign Ministry’s spokeswoman Le Thi Thu Hang on December 8 expressed concern that the decision could harm peace and stability in the Middle East.

Noting that Vietnam has friendly relations with all Middle East nations, including Palestine and Israel, Hang said Vietnam welcomes all regional and international efforts to peacefully deal with all conflicts and bring sustained peace to the Middle East, for the interests and development of all countries in the region.

Vietnam reiterates its consistent stance on supporting a two-state solution, including the establishment of a Palestinian state co-existing in peace with the Israeli state along the before-1967 border line.

Vietnam believes that all solutions related to Jerusalem must abide by international law, especially resolutions of the United Nations, and receive consensus from related parties. –VNA
