Party chief hails Military Zone 4 for ensuring social security

NgheAn (VNA) – General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam NguyenPhu Trong hailed the High Command of Military Zone 4 for ensuring local politicalstability and social security and safety during a working session in thecentral province of Nghe An on October 29.
Hesaid the Military Zone 4 lies in a strategic location, covering six provincesin the central region so that the staff must uphold patriotism tradition and builda healthy and transparent unit loyal to the Party, the nation and people.
TheParty chief called attention to building forces with political firmness andprofessionalism, adding that the Military Zone 4 must heed mass mobilisationand external relations, contributing to strengthening special solidarity withLaos.
Memberof the Party Central Committee and Commander of the Military Zone 4 Lieut. GenNguyen Tan Cuong said the Military Zone 4’s Party unit and staff have seriouslyabided by resolutions and directives by the Party Central Committee, thePolitburo, the Central Military Commission and Defence Ministry, particularly theresolution of the 12th National Party Congress and another by theeighth plenum of the 11th Party Central Committee on nationalprotection strategy in the new context.
Inaccordance with the resolution of the fourth plenum of the 12th Party Central Committee and the Politburo’s Directive No.05, the Party unit conductedcriticism and self-criticism, thereby devising measures to fight political andideological degradation, “self-evolution” and “self-transformation” phenomena,he said.
Headded that the staff also actively responded to the campaign “Studying andfollowing morals and lifestyle of Ho Chi Minh”.
Tocope with natural disasters and tropical low pressure, the Military Zone 4’sHigh Command deployed tens of thousands of officers and soldiers for search andrescue and helped local residents stabilise their lives. It also offered freehealth check-ups and medicines and worked closely with Lao localities and unitsto safeguard the shared borderline, he added.

A working group from the Military Zone 2 High Command has made a visit to the High Commands of Phongsaly, Udomxay, Bokeo and Infantry Division 3 of the Lao People’s Armed Forces to discuss measures to strengthen the special solidarity between the two countries.
