Hanoi (VNA) – Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong visited a nursingcentre for revolutionary contributors in Vien Ngoai village, Hanoi’s Ung Hoadistrict, on July 25, ahead of the 70th anniversary of War Invalids and MartyrsDay (July 27, 1947).
Onbehalf of Party and State leaders, the Party chief lauded efforts made by thecentre’s staff in caring for war invalids and martyrs’ family members.
Trongexpressed his sympathy for the losses endured by those people, who arereceiving treatment at the facility, and told them that they should be proud ofwhat they and their relatives have contributed to the nation’s revolutionachievements.
Hemade visits to every single room at the centre, talking and presenting gifts tothe residents.
Establishedin 1978, the nursing facility now houses 55 revolutionary contributors,including heroic mothers and invalids.-VNA
Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc on July 22 attended a meeting reviewing the 20-year implementation of policies towards revolutionary contributors in the central province of Quang Nam, home to the biggest number of contributors in Vietnam.
Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam visited and presented gifts to national revolutionary contributors in Kon Tum on July 24 on the occasion of the 70th War Invalids and Martyrs Day (July 27, 1947).
Supercomputers will be deployed to unify databases of different agencies managing information about war invalids and martyrs, significantly reducing time taken to locate documents or determine the identity of remains.
More than 197 billion VND (8.7 million USD) has been donated to the Gratitude Fund, which is an outcome of a movement beginning in late April to call on all people to express gratitude to revolutionary contributors.
The programmes have brought about positive changes to rural infrastructure, comprehensively improved the material and spiritual lives of farmers, and contributed to Vietnam's economic restructuring, said PM Pham Minh Chinh.
The festival highlighted the contributions and robust development of Vietnam's revolutionary press over the past century while promoting press products and showcasing the creativity of Vietnamese journalists.

At a review conference held on June 21, Deputy Minister of Construction Nguyen Van Sinh praised the province’s scientific, coordinated, and flexible approach.
