Pretoria (VNA) – A delegation of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) led by Nguyen Van Binh, Head of theParty Central Committee’s Economic Commission, visited Mozambique from December11-15.
During the visit, Binh metwith Mozambican Prime Minister Carlos Agostinho do Rosario and FRELIMO PartyGeneral Secretary Eliseu Joaquin Machava, and held talks with Esperanca Bias,Politburo member in charge of economic affairs of the FRELIMO.
He also had meetings withJose Condungua Pacheco, FRELIMO Politburo member and Minister of Agricultureand Food Security, and Ernesto Max Tonela, Minister of Industry and Trade.
During the meetings, the Mozambiqueside affirmed the importance of the relationship between the FRELIMO and theCPV, and thanked the Vietnamese party’s help in training FRELIMO’s officialsand assistance in developing agriculture and telecommunications.
Binh expressed his pleasureat the expanding cooperation between Vietnam and Mozambique, manifested by thesuccess of Movitel, the joint venture between Viettel and Mozambique’s SPIInvestment Company in the telecom sector.
He suggested the two partiesboost exchanges of delegations to share experience in theoretical research, Stategovernance and national construction, thus facilitating economic and trade tiesbetween the two countries.
Discussing cooperationpotential between the two countries, the Vietnamese Party official proposed Vietnamand Mozambique can cooperate in the mining of coal and precious metal.
