Beijing (VNA) – General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) Central Committee and State President To Lam, his spouse, and a high-ranking delegation of Vietnam arrived in Beijing on August 18 evening, continuing their state visit to China from August 18-20.
The visit is made at the invitation of General Secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and President of China Xi Jinping and his spouse.

Departing from Guangzhou city, Guangdong province, the plane carrying the Vietnamese delegation landed at Beijing Capital International Airport at 6:40 pm. (local time).
They were greeted at the airport by Chinese officials, including Wang Yi, member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, Director of the Office of the CPC Central Committee’s Commission for Foreign Affairs, and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Chinese Ambassador to Vietnam Xiong Bo, a large number of Chinese citizens, staff from the Vietnamese Embassy in China, members of the Vietnamese community, and Vietnamese students studying in China.

Later in the evening, Party General Secretary and President To Lam is set to visit the Vietnamese Embassy to meet with its staff, representatives of the Vietnamese community, and Vietnamese students in China.

Party General Secretary and State President To Lam had a meeting with Secretary of the Party Committee of Guangdong province Huang Kunming and the provincial Party Committee’s Standing Committee in Guangzhou on August 18, the first day of his ongoing visit to China.
Party General Secretary and State President To Lam, his wife and a high-ranking delegation of Vietnam paid floral tribute to martyr Pham Hong Thai at his grave in the Huang Hua Gang Memorial Park, and visited the relic site of the headquarters of the Vietnamese Revolutionary Youth League in Guangzhou city, Guangdong province, on August 18 morning.
The trip will be made at the invitations of Chinese Premier Li Qiang and WEF President and CEO Børge Brende, according to an announcement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Long spoke highly of the dynamic, positive, and comprehensive development of Vietnam – Russia relations in recent years. He affirmed that the Vietnamese Party and State place great importance on further strengthening the comprehensive strategic partnership with Russia in a substantive and effective manner, in line with the development needs of both nations.
At the conference, participants reported that the Government has so far issued 28 decrees on the delegation of responsibilities and powers between the central Government and two-tier local administrations. Several localities have already piloted the new governance model.
