Beijing (VNA) – General Secretary of theCommunist Party of Vietnam Central Committee Nguyen Phu Trong and ahigh-ranking delegation of Vietnam arrived in Beijing on January 12 afternoon(local time), beginning their official visit to China at the invitation ofGeneral Secretary of the Communist Party of China Central Committee andPresident Xi Jinping.
The Vietnamese Party leader and his entouragewere welcomed at the Beijing International Airport by Song Tao, Head of the InternationalLiaison Department under the Chinese Party Central Committee, ChineseAmbassador to Vietnam Hong Xiaoyong, Vietnamese Ambassador to China Dang MinhKhoi, the Vietnamese Embassy’s staff and Vietnamese people living in China.
Taking place at a time when the two countriesare preparing to celebrate the 67th founding anniversary of diplomaticrelations and welcome their traditional Lunar New Year, the visit is of greatimportance as it aims to set out healthy and long-term development orientationsfor bilateral ties.-VNA

The visit to China by Party leader Nguyen Phu Trong is of great importance, contributing to the comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership between the two countries, said a Chinese researcher.
The trip will be made at the invitations of Chinese Premier Li Qiang and WEF President and CEO Børge Brende, according to an announcement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
