Hanoi (VNA) – Party General Secretary To Lam attended the plenary session of the ninth National Congress of the Vietnam Youth Federation in the 2024-2029 tenure in Hanoi on December 18.

The session also drew former Party General Secretary Nong Duc Duc Manh, former National Assembly Chairpersons Nguyen Van An and Nguyen Sinh Hung. Politburo members: Secretary of the Party Central Committee and President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee Do Van Chien, and Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee Nguyen Van Nen also participated in the session.

State President Luong Cuong, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man and former Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung sent bouquets to the event.

The congress saw the participation of 980 delegates representing 21 million youngsters from all localities and ethnic groups.

With the slogan “Vietnamese youth stay patriotic, ambitious, united, pioneering, creative and confident in entering a new era", the congress aims to build a generation of young people with revolutionary ideals, patriotism, self-reliance, and strong will and ambition.

An exhibition highlighting outstanding activities and youth movements was kicked off following the opening ceremony.

🧔 Earlier the same day, delegates laid a wreath in tribute to President Ho Chi Minh at his mausoleum, and offered incense at the Monument of Heroes and Martyrs in Bac Son street of Hanoi./.
