Party leader meets with incoming Vietnamese diplomats

The leadercongratulated each of them on their appointment, which he described as agreat honour and also a heavy responsibility.

Heurged them to thoroughly grasp and fully perform their assigned missionswhile creatively applying the Party and State’s external guidelines andpolicies, ultimately ensuring a peaceful and stable environment fornational development.

The diplomats need to activelysubmit proposals on foreign affairs to the Party and State, especiallyon major issues relating to national interests and sovereignty, henoted, asking for their utmost endeavour in implementingexpatriate-related work and helping overseas Vietnamese integrate intolocal communities and contribute to the homeland.

The General Secretary also requested the diplomats make their officesand agencies a representation of Vietnam’s image to popularise thecountry’s land, people and culture to the international community. Theyshould also act as a friendship and cooperation bridge linking Vietnamwith other nations and partners.

At the meeting,ambassadors and chiefs of representative agencies expressed their honourto be accredited and voiced their willingness to contribute to nationaldevelopment.

They committed to all-out efforts to fulfil assigned tasks for the sake of the nation.-VNA
