Hanoi (VNA) – Head of the Communist Party ofVietnam (CPV) Central Committee’s Commission for Inspection Tran Quoc Vuong laudedpeople-to-people diplomacy during a conference in Hanoi on January 4 reviewingactivities of the CPV Central Committee’s Commission for External Relations. 

Speaking at the event, Vuong asked ministries, agencies, theVietnam Fatherland Front and mass organisations to build on the past achievementsand further improve people-to-people diplomacy in 2018 by seriously followingthe Secretariat’s Directive 04, thus ensuring the Party leadership and Statemanagement in the field.

They were also required to fully tap collective power andnational interests in diplomatic activities and global integration.

The Commission for External Relations highlighted diplomatichighlights last year, including the Year of Vietnam – Laos Solidarity andFriendship, the Vietnam – Cambodia Friendship Year, the APEC Year 2017 and APECEconomic Leaders’ Week, contributing to strengthening solidarity, friendshipand cooperation between peoples,

Concluding the event, head of the Commission for ExternalRelations Hoang Binh Quan launched an emulation campaign for people-to-peoplediplomacy 2018.

On the occasion, individuals and organisations wereawarded with certificates of merit for their achievements in people-to-peoplediplomacy.-VNA
