Hanoi (VNA) – The personnel work must be well preparedfrom all-level Party congresses in order to facilitate the 13th National PartyCongress, said Party General Secretary and State President Nguyen Phu Trong onMarch 19.
The top leader made the request while addressinga meeting of the sub-committee in charge of the personnel affairs for theupcoming National Party Congress in Hanoi.
The meeting also saw the participation of PrimeMinister Nguyen Xuan Phuc, National Assembly Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan,permanent member of the Party Central Committee’s Secretariat Tran Quoc Vuong,head of the Party Central Committee’s Organisation Commission Pham Minh Chinh,and head of the Party Central Committee’s Inspection Commission Tran Cam Tu.
The delegates heard a report reviewing personnelmatters of the 12th Party Central Committee and orientations for the work forthe next tenure.
Trong, who is also head of the sub-committee,lauded joint efforts in preparing reports and proposals presented at themeeting, describing them as the foundation for the building of personnelorientations for the 13th National Party Congress.
The 12th plenum of the 12th Party CentralCommittee, slated for May, will debate personnel orientations for the upcomingcongress, he said, stressing that this is one of the two most crucial mattersof each congress.
According to the leader, relevant draftdocuments have been sent to grassroots Party organisations for feedback.
“The personnel work must be considered a task ofspecial significance and a key one as it relates to the survival of the Partyand the regime,” he emphasised, ordering each agency, locality and officialengaging in preparations to be fully aware of their responsibility.
The personnel affairs of the Party CentralCommittee, the Politburo and the Secretariat require a strict, scientific andconsistent process in order to ensure democracy, fairness, purity and objectivity,Trong said.
The leader asked members of the sub-committeeand its supporting group to seriously observe working principles, saying thegroup needs to closely coordinate with the Organisation Commission to collectfeedback of the sub-committee and complete the report to submit it to thePolitburo./.
Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc chaired the first session of the Socio-Economic Subcommittee in preparation for the 13th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam in Hanoi on November 9.
Party General Secretary and President Nguyen Phu Trong chaired a meeting on September 6 of the sub-committee on charge of compiling documents for the 13th National Party Congress.
Stronger efforts and determination are required to achieve and surpass the set targets, especially in the eradication of makeshift and dilapidated houses nationwide, the acceleration of public investment disbursement, and the implementation of nationally important transport projects, PM Pham Minh Chinh noted.
The trip will be made at the invitations of Chinese Premier Li Qiang and WEF President and CEO Børge Brende, according to an announcement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

In particular, in April 2023, the two sides successfully carried out a joint operation that dismantled a major organised, transnational drug trafficking ring involving both Vietnamese and Cambodian suspects.
