Philippine auto sales set new quarterly record

According to data from the Chamber ofAutomotive Manufacturers of the Philippines (CAMPI) and the TruckManufacturers Association (TMA), t he figure represents an annualincrease of 22 percent.

In March alone, 23,557 cars were introduced to the country’s roads.

The sales of passenger buses reached 25,000 in three months, a surge of 38.2 percent from the same period last year.

As of the end of March, Toyota was leading the market with 44.2percent market share followed by Mitsubishi with 18.8 percent and Fordwith 8.4 percent.

The archipelago country is expected to buy 310,000 vehicles in 2015.-VNA
