Hanoi (VNA) ꧃– The Philippines and Qatar on April 16 signed trade agreementsworth 200 million USD during the final stop of President Rodrigo Duterte’s tourof Gulf states.

PhilippineSecretary of Trade and Industry Ramon Lopez said that 6,000 jobs would becreated in the Philippines from the 13 agreements inked between two countries’businesses in health, national defence and tourism. SeveralQatari firms are interested in projects in the Philippines thanks to the manyinvestment opportunities in the country, he added.   PresidentDuterte visited Saudi Arabia, Bahrain and Qatar during his Gulf tour. The threecountries combined are home to more than 300,000 Filipino labours. Remittances contributegreatly to the Philippines’ economy. According to President Duterte, overseasFilipinos sent home more than seven billion USD in remittances last year.-VNA
