Philippines requested to verify reports on killing of Vietnamese sailors
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) and Embassy of Vietnam in the Philippines have asked Philippine authorities to verify press reports that say two Vietnamese sailors were killed by the Abu Sayyaf
Hanoi (VNA) – The Ministryof Foreign Affairs (MoFA) and Embassy of Vietnam in the Philippines have askedPhilippine authorities to verify press reports that say two Vietnamese sailorswere killed by the Abu Sayyaf terrorist group, said MoFA’s spokeswoman Le ThiThu Hang.
Hang made the statement on July 5while answering reporters’ queries about the information that say twoVietnamese sailors were killed in the Philippines.
“Regarding press reports aboutthe killing of two Vietnamese sailors by the Abu Sayyaf terrorist group, the Ministryof Foreign Affairs and Embassy of Vietnam in the Philippines have requested Philippineauthorities to verify such information and provide necessary assistance at theearliest,” she said.
“Vietnam strongly condemns allbarbarous, inhuman kidnapping and assassination acts. Such acts must bepunished properly,” Hang added./.
