PhilippinePresident Rodrigo Duterte has expressed his willingness to expand trade tieswith Russia during his talks with Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev. According to a statement of the Philippine governmentreleased on November 14, Duterte said Manila plans to set up a place in Moscowwhere Filipinos can showcase their products for the Russians to see them. He thanked Russia for its military assistanceat a crucial moment during the operation against militants in Marawi city. Medvedev welcomed the Philippines' plan topromote trade with Russia, reiterating his country's desire to strengthen tieswith the Philippines in all areas such as politics, culture, trade andeconomics.
