A photo exhibition spotlighing the 45-year development of the southern economic hub of Ho Chi Minh City is underway on the occasion of the 45th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day (April 30, 1975).

HCM City (VNA) – A photo exhibition spotlighing the45-year development of the southern economic hub of Ho Chi Minh City is underwayon the occasion of the 45th anniversary of the Liberation of the South andNational Reunification Day (April 30, 1975).
Theevent is taking place from April 28 to May 5 at Nguyen Hue pedestrian street,Dong Khoi street, and the opposite location of Chi Lang Park.
Ondisplay are 200 colour and black-and-white photos introducing the historicaltradition of Vietnamese army and people, especially the working class in theresistance war against the US to liberate the South and reunite the country underthe leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam.
The exhibitionaims to promote patriotism and national pride through highlighting the city’sachievements in various fields, including economy, culture, society, securityand defence./.
Ho Chi Minh City plans to hold a range of activities to celebrate the 45th anniversary of the Liberation of South Vietnam and National Reunification Day (April 30, 1975).
Several popular tourist sites in Vietnam will reopen for visitors on the National Reunification Day (April 30) and May Day (May 1) holiday after the social distancing has been eased.
The country had to sacrifice a lot to achieve victory during the General Offensive and Uprising in the spring of 1975, culminating with the the Ho Chi Minh Campaign, said Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Huy Hieu, former Deputy Minister of National Defence.
